On December 16, 1991 the constitutional law "On state independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan"was adopted. For the first time Kazakhstan has acquired the legal status of an independent state recognized by the world community. This landmark event is the result of the aspirations and hopes of many generations of our people. Over 25 years of independent development, Kazakhstan has become one of the 50 most developed countries in the world, implemented the strategy-2030 ahead of schedule, started the implementation of the Strategy-2050, the national Plan "100 concrete steps: a modern state for all". Today Kazakhstan is the leader of modernization reforms among the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The chairmanship of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe, the Astana summit, the chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic cooperation, the Shanghai cooperation organization, the Meeting on interaction and confidence-building measures in Asia, the Eurasian economic Union are significant events that have become possible thanks to Kazakhstan's policy. The Kazakh people aspired to Independence for many centuries. There is a great merit of many generations in gaining Independence. Therefore, the celebration takes on a special meaning and significance for every citizen of Kazakhstan. The present generation has a special historical responsibility — to preserve and strengthen Independence. The work of state bodies, mass media (hereinafter — mass media), educational institutions, non-governmental organizations should be aimed at the introduction of this value into the public consciousness. The world community highly appreciates the achievements of Kazakhstan in building a stable, successful, competitive state, the policy of strengthening national unity. Independent Kazakhstan headed the most authoritative international organizations. At the first meeting of the State Commission for the 25th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan in Astana with the participation of the State Secretary of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova has approved the logo of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan. The celebration of the anniversary of Independence will be based on the following "anchor values": freedom, unity, stability, creation, prosperity. Every month the celebration will be held under the auspices of the achievements of Independence and values of "Mangilik El".
